Greensboro, NC, 03/06/2013… Elder Raymond S. King Jr., co-founder of Securing Hope Ministry, has created an unique and much needed curriculum to help break the occurrence of CSM (childhood sexual molestation). This curriculum is designed to empower parents, pastors, and ministry leaders to teach children between the ages of 4-9, how to 1) recognize, 2) avoid, and 3) report attempted or actual sexual molestation. Since most children between the ages of 4-9 don’t know what sexual molestation is, it’s imperative to end this generational ignorance to protect our children.
The epidemic of CSM is one of the most ignored yet devastating childhood traumas a child can experience. Since there are “over” 39 million survivors of CSM in America, and since 80% of the children who are sexually molested remain silent, with a very small percentage ever disclosing this devastating experience, most not until they are adults, it is imperative to begin to be proactive instead of being reactive to this dilemma.
With the repeated public accounts of children being victims of sexual molestation, perpetrated by prominent people in authority, family, friends, and their peers, ‘in and outside’ of the ‘Church’, something on a nationwide scale must be done to stop the destruction of the lives of the innocent. This reality can no longer be ignored or dismissed.
Our Bee Wise Children’s Critical Life Skill Initiative is an aggressive movement to develop “Bee Wise” Churches. These congregations will make a commitment to have every child, age 4-9, successfully go through the Bee Wise curriculum. These children will then be “Bee Wise Kids” and empowered not to become victims of sexual molestation. Our ministry will be working with denomination leaders, Bishops and Superintendents to reach congregations nationwide to make this endeavor a reality.
In addition we will also educate parents and other adults to recognize the signs & symptoms of CSM, how to make eliminate dangerous environments and opportunities that lead to child victimization, and how to become powerful advocates to prevent CSM.
Bee Wise Churches will provide a much safer environment for children and result in an informed adult population regarding the signs and symptoms of CSM, what to watch for to prevent CSM beyond the Church. Our initiative will also establish ministry efforts to reach those who have experienced CSM to assist them to realize resolution and deliverance from this devastating childhood trauma.
The ‘Bee Wise Critical Life Skills Curriculum’ is a powerful, biblically based tool for those who want to empower their child to: *develop “God centered” self-worth, *appreciate and understand their divine gender assignment, *start exercising proper character building habits, *know the difference between a “Good Touch” and a “Bad Touch”, *know the difference between “Public Body Parts” and “Private Body Parts”, and last but not least, *know what to do if an inappropriate touch is attempted or molestation is experienced.
